Deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team are investigating a fatal vehicle vs. pedestrian crash.

When:
The crash occurred at about 6:09 p.m. on Sunday, November 30, 2014.

Where:
The crash occurred on Gulf Boulevard at approximately 147th Avenue in Madeira Beach.

Why:
According to investigators, 75-year-old Joan Patrick of Ontario, Canada had just had dinner with her family at Dockside Dave's on Madeira Beach. After dinner she and her family crossed Gulf Boulevard to the west. All made it across the northbound lanes of Gulf Boulevard. Deputies say Patrick stayed slightly behind her family and was struck in the median southbound lane by the Nissan Altima driven by 28-year-old Nicole Biggs of Seminole.

Patrick was transported by ambulance to St. Pete General Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased at 6:36 p.m. on November 30th.

Deputies say neither impairment nor speed appear to be factors in the crash.

The investigation continues.
