Awards Ceremony

Over 150 members were recognized during the Sheriff's Office Annual Awards Ceremony held on May 19th.

Winners included:

The Jackie Clement Award
Presented to: Office Assistant -Sheila Evins-Bradshaw
Awarded for an outstanding performance by a support staff member in the Child Protection Investigations Unit. Sheila was selected for this honor for her "can do" attitude in every aspect of her job and her steadfast commitment to the Child Protection Investigation Staff.

Support Person of the Year Award
Presented to School Crossing Guard Program Supervisor Sharon Lough
Presented by Network People, Inc.. Sharon was nominated by her supervisors as she most exemplified the criteria established by Network People of professional work ethics, integrity, attitude, attention to detail, excellent job skills and dependability. She received a plaque and a $700 check. (Note: No photo available.)

Captain Louis Kubler Award - Forensic Specialist of the Year
Presented to Forensic Specialist Traci Erwin
Traci was nominated by her peers based upon her professionalism, excellent work product and dedication. In 2014, due to her meticulous examination of evidence left at the scene, she discovered a faint fingerprint ridge detail on a toilet seat that ultimately led to the arrest of a murder suspect.

Captain Louis Kubler Award -Detention Deputy of the Year
Presented Posthumously to Deputy Diane Konstantinovic
Deputy Konstantinovic was assigned to Field Training, a job she loved and where she thrived as a Field Training Officer with her ability to teach, train and guide new members. In the midst of it she was battling cancer. She would drive herself to chemo and then come back to work. Se never asked for special treatment or complained about her condition. Deputy Konstantinovic lost her battle with cancer on May 19, 2014. She left a lasting impression on her fellow deputies and supervisors.

Ruth and Tim Johnson Award - Deputy of the Year
Presented to Deputy Daniel Weber
The Mayors of Pinellas County selected Deputy Weber among several nomination all involving deputies saving a life under dangerous circumstances. Deputy Weber was recognized for his heroic actions in rescuing two citizens from a burning building in St. Petersburg. He first alerted the residents. He led one disoriented woman to safety from the doorway of the home and then. without regard for his own safety entered the burning structure to assist her elderly disabled mother out of the residence.

What:
Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri presents the 2015 Agency Awards. The Annual Awards recognize courageous service, personal initiative in solving crime and outstanding public service.

When:
The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19, 2015.

Where:
The ceremony will take place at the City of Seminole Recreation Auditorium located at 9100 113th Street North in Seminole.

How/Why:
This year’s ceremony will recognize over 150 individuals for their exemplary efforts throughout the year as well as the:

Law Enforcement Deputy of the Year

Detention Deputy of the Year

Forensic Science Specialist of the Year

Support Staff Member of the Year

The Jackie Clement Award – Awarded for an outstanding performance by a support staff member in the Child Protection Investigations Unit.

Agency members will also receive awards in the following categories:

Certificate of Professionalism – Awarded for dedication and professionalism exhibited in the performance of duty.

Gold Star Award– Awarded for an exemplary act or outstanding performance materially contributing to the good reputation of the Sheriff’s Office, or when a member is attempting to save a life in a non-threatening situation.

Unit Achievement Award – Awarded for excellence for a group effort in an investigation, arrest, or other group achievement which brings recognition to the Sheriff’s Office.

Excellent Service – Awarded for an intelligent, self-initiated act materially contributing to a valuable law enforcement accomplishment.

Meritorious Service - Awarded for an intelligent act while attempting to save a life.

Exceptional Service – Awarded for an intelligent and heroic act involving grave personal danger.

Combat Cross – Awarded for an intelligent act of exceptional heroism while engaged in combat with an armed adversary.
