What:
Deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) have arrested a suspect who they say was responsible for a hit and run crash in Safety Harbor that involved six vehicles and caused serious bodily injury in December of 2014.

When:
The suspect was arrested at approximately 12:56 p.m. on July 15^th, 2015. The crash occurred at approximately 5:40 p.m. on December 19^th, 2014.   

Where:
The crash occurred on CR611 just south of Curlew Road in Safety Harbor.

Why/How:
Deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team have arrested a suspect who they say was responsible for the hit and run crash that occurred in Safety Harbor on December 19^th, 2014. 

According to investigators, the suspect 38 year-old Shawn Glode was traveling northbound on CR 611 in his 2005 Ford F150 when he crashed into a vehicle near the intersection of Curlew Road. In an attempted to flee from the scene, Glode struck a second vehicle causing a chain reaction that damaged three additional vehicles and caused serious bodily injuries.

Through various investigative techniques, investigators were able to determine that Glode was impaired at the time of the crash. He was also found to be in possession of various controlled substances.

Investigators arrested Glode and he was transported to the Pinellas County Jail.

Glode was charged with one count of Leaving the Scene of a Crash Involving Injury, one count of Leaving the Scene of a Crash Involving Property Damage, one count of Driving Under the Influence (Serious Bodily Injury), one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance (Spice), one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance (Morphine) and one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance (Alprazolam).  

The investigation continues.
