Florida Association of Police Explorers

What:
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Post 900 recently participated in the 2015 Florida Association of Police Explorers (F.A.P.E.) Delegates Meeting and Pistol Competition.

When:
The competition took place October 2 - 4, 2015.

Where:
The 2015 Florida Association of Police Explorers Delegate Meeting and Pistol Competition was held in Port St. Lucie, Florida. 

Why/How:
Seventeen members of Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Post #900 participated in the Florida Association of Police Explorer’s Delegates training event and pistol competition held in Port Saint Lucie, Florida on October 2nd – 4th.  Explorer Posts from around the state met for a full day of training, which consisted of several different scenarios covering many law enforcement topics, including building searches, DUI investigations, Defensive Tactics and Crisis Intervention Techniques. 
 

The pistol competition was held at the Port Saint Lucie Shooting Range.  During the individual shooting competition Explorer Chris Binning won 3rd place in the Tyro Division, Explorer Alissa Epperson won 2nd place in the Tyro Division and Explorer Major Spencer Shaw won 2nd place in the Expert Division.  Explorer Major Spencer Shaw, Explorer Chris Binning, Explorer Alissa Epperson and Explorer David McMullen participated in the Team Shooting Event and took 2nd Place Overall.


We are very proud of the efforts of our members of Post #900 during this Delegate’s competition.  These young people have proven that a high level of commitment pays off!  Congratulations Explorer Post 900!
