What:
Deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team are investigating a serious vehicle vs. pedestrian crash in Seminole.

When:
The crash occurred at about 6:50 p.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2015.

Where:
The crash occurred at the intersection of Seminole Boulevard and 54th Avenue North in Seminole.

Why/How:
According to investigators, 51-year-old Chester Buhl was walking westbound crossing Seminole Boulevard at the intersection of 54th Avenue North in the crosswalk, against the “Don’t Walk” pedestrian signal.

Investigators say 24-year-old Danielle Zsido was driving a 2013 Dodge Ram pickup truck southbound on Seminole Boulevard, in the curb lane approaching 54th Avenue North, with a green traffic light and did not initially see Buhl crossing the roadway. Zsido attempted to stop and swerve to avoid the crash but struck Buhl with the right front corner of her vehicle.

Buhl was transported by ambulance to Bayfront Medical Center for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

Investigators indicated that Buhl may have been impaired at the time of the crash. Zsido appeared to be driving the speed limit and she showed no signs of impairment.

Zsido works as a dispatcher for the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office and was off duty at the time of the crash.

The investigation continues.
