What:
Detectives are investigating a deputy involved shooting in Lealman after responding to a domestic call.  The suspect is deceased.  No deputies were injured.

Where:
The incident originated at Duval Park located at 4280 Mallory Drive, #101 in Lealman.

When:
Deputies were dispatched at about 5:28 p.m. on Wednesday, November 23, 2016.

How/Why:
At approximately 5:28 deputies responded to a domestic call at 4280 Mallory Drive, apartment number 101 in Lealman.  A neighbor in the next door unit reported a domestic altercation involving 36-year-old Megan Anderson and 43-year-old William J. Beavers.

Deputy Brennen Wede and Deputy Tyler Green responded to the caller’s residence where Anderson, a 10-year-old and a 12-year-old had taken refuge.  Anderson stated Beavers had been violent, was intoxicated and would be uncooperative.

After deputies knocked on Beavers’ door several times, Beavers answered the door and exited the doorway with a knife held over his shoulder towards Deputy Wede.  As Deputy Wede retreated, Deputy Green advised Beavers to drop the knife several times; however, Beavers refused.  Deputy Green fired multiple shots striking Beavers in the upper body.

The subject was pronounced deceased at 5:51 on scene.  Next of kin has been notified.

Deputy Green will be placed on routine paid administrative leave.

The investigation continues.
