Why/How:
Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit have arrested a Pinellas Park man for sexual battery on a minor.

According to detectives, their investigation began on December 27, 2016, after the victim informed detectives that the suspect, 44-year-old Larry Bourdon, began having inappropriate sexual activity with her when she was 14-years-old.

Detectives say that Bourdon had familial authority over the juvenile victim when he began having inappropriate sexual activity with the victim. Bourdon continued having inappropriate sexual activity with the victim until she was 18 years old.

Through various investigative techniques, detectives were able to corroborate the victim’s allegations.

At about 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 18, 2017, detectives interviewed Bourdon at the Sheriff’s Administration Building located at 10750 Ulmerton Road in Largo. Bourdon admitted to the allegations.

Bourdon was arrested and transported to the Pinellas County Jail without incident.

Bourdon was charged with one count of Sexual Battery (Familial Authority).

The investigation continues.
