Charges: Two Counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Child Neglect.

The victim is a three-year-old male who is known to the suspect. Per Florida Statute 119.071 (2) (h) 1, no further details will be released that would tend to identify the victim.

What:
Deputies arrest woman for two counts of possession of a controlled substance and child neglect after she is found passed out in a vehicle with drugs in reach of the child.

When:
The incident occurred at about 12:14 p.m., on Tuesday, May 02, 2017.

Where:
The incident occurred in a parking lot located at 35080 U.S. Highway 19 North, Palm Harbor.

Why/How:
Pinellas deputies responded to a business located at 35080 U.S. Highway 19 North, in Palm Harbor, at approximately 12:14 p.m. on Tuesday, May 02, 2017, regarding a report of a person down.

When deputies arrived, they found 36-year-old Tiffany Brown, unresponsive in the back seat of her vehicle with a three-year-old child partially belted in the front seat. Deputies say the door on the child’s side of the vehicle was open and the child was screaming.

Paramedics had trouble waking Brown when they responded to the scene.

During the investigation, deputies found a baggie of pills containing Alprazolam and Amphetamine/Dexotroamphetamine on the front driver’s seat, in reach of the child. Brown denied that the prescription drugs were hers but she admitted to deputies that she had taken Methadone.

Brown was arrested and charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance and one count of Child Neglect.

Brown was transported to the Pinellas County Jail without incident.

The child was in good medical condition and was released to a family member.

The investigation continues.
