Why/How:
Deputy Jessica Mackesy joined the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office in 2012. Prior to her joining the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Mackesy was previously employed as an investigator with the Florida Department of Health. While an investigator with the Florida Department of Health, Deputy Mackesy was assigned to the Countywide Diversion Task Force with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, combating prescription drug abuse within Pinellas County.

Prior to assuming her duties as PIO, Deputy Mackesy worked as a patrol deputy in the Patrol Operations Bureau. In 2014, Deputy Mackesy transferred to the Investigative Operations Bureau where she worked as a detective in the Narcotics Division.

Deputy Mackesy has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of North Florida.
