The suspect was arrested at about 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 31, 2017.

The suspect was arrested at the Pinellas County Criminal Justice Center.

Why/How:
Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit have arrested a Dunedin man for Possession of Child Pornography.

According to detectives, their investigation began in April 2017, after receiving information that the suspect, identified as 55-year-old Jeffrey Scott Allen, was in possession of child pornography.

Through various investigative techniques, detectives were able to recover numerous images depicting bestiality and child pornography from Allen’s computer.

Detectives arrested Allen and charged him with 15 counts of Possession of Child Pornography. Allen was also out on bond from a previous arrest on October 11, 2016 regarding Video Voyeurism on a juvenile, which was revoked.

Allen was transported to the Pinellas County Jail without further incident.

The investigation continues.
