Why/How:
Deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) are investigating a vehicle vs pedestrian crash that seriously injured a man in South Pasadena.

According to investigators, 68-year-old Nancy Albrecht was driving her 2017 Subaru Forester southbound on Pasadena Avenue South, approaching Hibiscus Avenue South.

For unknown reasons, 25-year-old Todd Hall was walking and tried crossing Pasadena Avenue from east to west, into the path of Albrecht’s Subaru. Albrecht could not stop in time and her Subaru struck Hall.

Paramedics transported Hall to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg hospital for life-threatening injuries. Albrecht was uninjured.

Investigators say Hall was not utilizing a designated crosswalk at the time of the crash and there’s evidence Hall had been drinking alcohol prior to the crash.

The investigation continues.
