What:
Pinellas Safe Harbor clients are set to participate in “Take a Bite Out Of Grime,” a community clean up event around Pinellas Safe Harbor and the Highpoint Area.

When:
The clean-up effort is scheduled from 8:00 a.m.. to 2:00 p.m.. on Saturday, March 21, 2015.

8:00 - Welcoming Remarks and Guests Speakers

8:30 - Clients/volunteers shuttled to various locations for clean up

11:30 - Clean-up ends. Clients/volunteers start return to Pinellas Safe Harbor

12:30-2:00 p.m. Lunch Served and Awards Presentation

Where:
Event begins at Pinellas Safe Harbor located at 14840 49th Street North in Clearwater.

Why/How:
Pinellas Safe Harbor clients and other volunteers are set to clean up the Highpoint area in and effort dubbed “Take a Bite Out Of Grime.”

Pinellas Safe Harbor, the Sheriff’s Special Services Section and Community Policing Deputies coordinated the event that will transport dozens of Pinellas Safe Harbor clients and other volunteers to approximately ten locations around the Highpoint area to pick up litter.

Through their effort the clients will be giving back to the community.

Corey Knowles a Retired Navy Seal, Tampa Bay Buccaneer Louis Murphy Jr., Arena Football Hall Of Famer Stevie Thomas, Tampa Bay Rowdies Assistant General Manager Perry Van Der Beck, Rowdies President & General Manager Farrukh Quraishi will meet and greet the participants as they begin their day. They will provide words of encouragement to the clients and support them in their efforts.

The clients will also have the opportunity to earn community service hours as part of their volunteer work.

Following the clean-up, lunch will be served back at Pinellas Safe Harbor. The clients will win prizes and an award will be presented for the team that collects the most litter.
