The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office Law Enforcement Cadets Program (Unit #900) offers young people the opportunity to experience firsthand the challenges and rewards of a career in law enforcement or corrections including investigations, forensics, training, and more. Cadets interact with deputy sheriffs who serve as mentors and instructors, some of whom were once Cadets themselves.
Unit #900 Cadets are immersed in several facets of our agency’s operations and has earned national championships in several law enforcement exploring categories such as scenario-based, shooting, Honor Guard, and drill teams.
Cadet are provided opportunities to travel, learn about future careers in law enforcement, serve their communities, provided knowledge, skills and practical experiences through education and training delivered by their mentors. Cadets build character, physical fitness and respect for the rule of law and human and civil rights.
