Detectives investigate after Palm Harbor man was found in Oldsmar after jumping off boat dock.

Where:
National Orange Drive and Lafayette Boulevard at a boat ramp in Oldsmar.

When:
The incident occurred on January 21, 2015 at approximately 6:15 AM.

How/Why:
At approximately 6:15 AM deputies received a call of a man in the water at National Orange Drive and Lafayette Boulevard at a boat ramp in Oldsmar. Pinellas County Sheriff’s Deputies, marine unit and flight unit along with the assistance of the United States Coast Guard and Florida Fish and Wildlife began searching for the subject, identified as Anthony Norton of Palm Harbor. 

At approximately 8:50 AM FWC officers located the subject in the water. Anthony was pronounced deceased at the scene.

According to witnesses Anthony jumped into the water intentionally.

It is unknown at this time if alcohol or drugs are a factor in the incident.

The investigation is on-going.
