What:
Detectives assigned to the Robbery/Homicide Unit are investigating a murder in Palm Harbor in which the victim was stabbed. Detectives continue search for suspect.

When:
The incident occurred at 2:22 p.m. on January 23, 2015.

Where:
The incident occurred at the South end of Market Place Drive in East Lake (Just behind 36301 Eastlake Road).

How/Why:
At about 2:20 p.m. on  January 23, 2015 deputies responded to an assault and battery in progress where a male was stabbed.

According to investigators, the victim, identified as 23-year-old Dwight Tisdale and the unidentified suspect were in a vehicle moving slowly along Market Place Drive. Witnesses told detectives the two subjects appeared to be arguing inside the car.

At one point, Tisdale, who was the driver, staggered out of the vehicle and fell to the ground. Detectives say the suspect also exited the vehicle, walked towards the victim, stood over him and stabbed him multiple times with a knife.

The victim was transported to Mease Countryside Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The suspect fled on foot in an eastbound direction towards a nearby residential area and then to the south into a wooded area.

Detectives say the victim and the suspect are believed to be known to each other.

Detectives are attempting to identify and locate the suspect at this time.

The investigation continues.
