Where:
The crash occurred on the Dunedin Causeway east of the drawbridge.

Why/How:
According to investigators, at approximately 7:14 p.m. on June 14, 2016, Matthew Collman, the driver of the 2016 Honda Odyssey minivan was traveling westbound on Causeway Boulevard. The minivan crossed the center line sideswiping Joseph Harris’ Ford F-150 truck and striking a flatbed trailer being towed. After hitting the trailer, the Odyssey struck a guard rail sending flying debris which struck the bicyclist, Tanya Dubay, as she was traveling westbound on the south side of Causeway Boulevard. The Odyssey struck the guard rail a second time and then came to rest.

Harris was transported to Mease Countryside Hospital for minor injuries. Dubay was transported to Bayfront Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Collman had minor injuries and was arrested and transported to the Pinellas County Jail without incident. Collman was charged with two felony counts of leaving the scene of a crash involving injury.

Investigators do not believe that speed was a factor in the crash.

The investigation continues.
