Why/How:
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office announces the June 10 graduation of Colonel Paul Halle from the FBI National Academy Program.

Colonel Halle serves as the Commander of PCSO’s Department of Detention and Corrections, the largest department in the Sheriff’s Office. He is responsible for overseeing approximately 1,100 employees and an average daily population of 3,000 inmates.

Colonel Halle’s graduating class of Session No. 264 included 213 law enforcement executives from around the world (both national and international) who met for 10 weeks at the at the FBI Training Facility in Quantico, Virginia.

During the course, attendees received an advanced education in law, behavioral science, forensic science, understanding terrorism/terrorist mindsets, leadership, communication, and health/fitness provided by the academy’s instructional staff, special agents, and other staff members.

According to the FBI’s website, the academy was created in 1935 with 23 students in the first class. It has grown over the years to the current enrollment of over 1,000 students a year. The FBI National Academy is one of the premier law enforcement academies in the world.
