What:
Deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team are investigating a deputy involved crash in Largo.

When:
The crash occurred at about 3:00 a.m. on August 27, 2016.

Where:
The crash occurred on 66th Street at the U.S. Hwy 19 Frontage Road intersection in Largo.

Why/How:
According to investigators, Deputy Alan Clark was traveling northbound on U.S. Hwy 19 frontage road approaching the 66th Street intersection in his marked cruiser, a 2008 Ford Crown Victoria. A 2002 Toyota Camry driven by 55-year old- Harry Wilson, was traveling northbound on 66th Street approaching the U.S. Hwy 19 frontage road intersection.

As both vehicles entered the intersection, Deputy Clark failed to maintain his lane and sideswiped the passenger side of the Toyota with his cruiser sending the Toyota off the roadway onto the grass shoulder where the vehicle came to a complete stop.

Wilson was transported to Northside Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Deputy Clark was uninjured.

There were no passengers in either of the vehicles.

Alcohol or drug impairment was not a factor in the investigation.

The investigation continues.
