Charges: One count of Retail Theft.

At about 3:34 p.m. on Monday April 10, 2017, detectives arrested, 35-year-old Charisse Martin, for the theft of merchandise from a Winn-Dixie in Dunedin.

Crime Stoppers and the local evening news, helped identify Martin as the suspect.

Martin turned herself into the Pinellas County Jail. She was charged with one count of Retail Theft.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic or black female, with dark hair, pulled back into a bun, wearing a blue shirt unknown logo on the front, blue athletic pant suit with white stripes, and red bedroom slippers.

What:
Detectives assigned to the Burglary/Pawn Unit are seeking the public’s assistance identifying a grand theft suspect who stole approximately $1,000 worth of merchandise.

When:
The grand theft occurred at about 8:30 p.m. on February 17, 2017.

Where:
The incident occurred at the Winn Dixie located at 1296 County Road 1 in Dunedin.  

How/Why:
Detectives assigned to the Burglary/Pawn Unit are seeking the public’s assistance identifying a grand theft suspect who stole approximately $1,000 worth of merchandise.

According to detectives, the suspect entered the store pushing a shopping cart with an infant and two small children. While in the store, the suspect placed multiple items, including several cans of baby formula in two shopping carts.

The suspect and children are then observed on surveillance video entering the restroom with the merchandise in the shopping carts. Approximately eight minutes later, the suspect and children exit the restroom with two large bags in the suspect’s cart.

The suspect is captured on surveillance video leaving the store with the infant and two small children, without paying for the merchandise. They enter a gold four door Chevrolet Malibu, with a distinct faded hood.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic or black female, with dark hair, pulled back into a bun, wearing a blue shirt unknown logo on the front, blue athletic pant suit with white stripes, and red bedroom slippers.
