Why/How:
Detectives assigned to the Economics Crime Unit have arrested four suspects for multiple counts of organized felony retail theft and petit theft.

According to detectives, the investigation began on June 7, 2015, when Home Depot loss prevention personnel reported a pattern involving multiple retail thefts. The investigation continued through January 14, 2016.

Through various investigative techniques, detectives identified four suspects; 54-year-old Alija Boskovic, 26-year-old Nermin Boskovic, 53-year-old Fatima Boskovic and 21-year-old Sanita Jasrevic.  The suspects stole large amounts of building materials from Home Depot. These materials include paint, floor tile, power tools, faucets, vacuums, ceiling fans, smoke alarms and curtain rods.  The suspects would bring several items to a known associate working as a cashier and only pay for a small portion.  This occurred at two different Home Depot locations within the County.  The names of the associates will remain unidentified as this is an active investigation.

Detectives estimate a loss exceeding $50,000; however, $11,653.16, has been verified.

On April 11, 2017, Alija Boskovic, Nermin Boskovic, Fatima Boskovic, and Sanita Jasrevic were arrested by the St. Petersburg Police Department and taken to the Pinellas County Jail for outstanding charges relating to this investigation.
