Detectives assigned to the Robbery/Homicide Unit are conducting a death investigation where a man was found deceased inside his residence.

Deputies responded to the private residence in Safety Harbor at approximately 11:22 a.m. on Monday, June 19, 2017.

Where:
The incident occurred at the victim's home located at 13 Harbor Cove Street, Safety Harbor.

Why/How:
Pinellas County Sheriff’s deputies responded to 13 Harbor Cove Street, Safety Harbor, regarding reports of a deceased person.

According to detectives, 61-year-old David Sommer was found inside of his residence. When deputies arrived he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Detectives have confirmed that Sommer died from unnatural causes.

Next of kin has been notified.

This continues to be an open and on-going investigation.
