Detectives assigned to the Robbery/Homicide Unit have arrested 36-year old Michael Valenti after being informed by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office and the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner’s Office of a suspicious death involving 38-year-old Alison Burch.

Detectives say the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office began their investigation on November 19, 2016, after the 38-year old victim, Alison Burch, became unresponsive at her residence in Tampa.

Medical attention was provided to Burch, who later was pronounced deceased.

Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office notified Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office of the suspicious circumstances that began in Madeira Beach leading up to her death in Tampa.

On November 16, 2016, detectives say that Alison Burch and her boyfriend, Michael Valenti, who reside in Hillsborough County, were at 14925 1st Street East, Madeira Beach doing house repair work.

While at this location, a physical altercation occurred between Valenti and Burch. It was determined that Burch sustained injuries which lead to her death as a result of the altercation.

Detectives interviewed Valenti, an inmate at the Orient Road County Jail, on unrelated criminal charges. Valenti admitted to the allegations and was charged with Manslaughter.

The investigation continues.
