Motorcyclist, 54-year-old Robert Dobraski, died at St. Joseph's Hospital. 

Investigators say Dobraski was pronounced deceased at about 9:57 a.m. on July 7, 2018. 

Next of kin has been notified.

What:
Deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team are investigating a motorcycle crash that seriously injured a man in Safety Harbor.

When:
The crash occurred at about 2:50 a.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2018.

Where:
The crash occurred on the roadway in front of 1078 3rd Street North, Safety Harbor.

Why/How:
According to investigators, at about 2:50 a.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2018, 54-year-old Robert Dobraski was driving his 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle eastbound on 3rd Street North, in Safety Harbor, when he struck a legally parked vehicle in front of 1078 3rd Street North.

Investigators say Dobraski was flown to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa for life-threatening injuries. Dobraski was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Through the course of the investigation, investigators learned that officers from the Clearwater Police Department were already trying to locate Dobraski. Officers told investigators that Dobraski crashed his motorcycle in Clearwater earlier the same morning.

Witnesses told officers that Dobraski was driving his motorcycle on Sunset Point Road when he struck the median and crashed near Lawson Road in Clearwater. Dobraski got back on his motorcycle and drove off towards Safety Harbor.

Investigators say speed and impairment appear to be factors in this crash.

The investigation continues.
