Wilkerson was being treated at Bayfront Hospital, St. Petersburg when she died.

What:
Deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team are investigating a vehicle vs pedestrian in Seminole.

When: 
The crash occurred at about 7:01 p.m. on Thursday, December 06, 2018.

Where:
The crash occurred on Seminole Boulevard at 61st Avenue N in Seminole.

Why/How:
Deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team are investigating a vehicle vs pedestrian crash in Seminole.

According to investigators, 57-year-old Felicia Wilkerson was not in a crosswalk and crossing east to west in a poorly lit area of the roadway on Seminole Boulevard at 61st Avenue North in Seminole.

Deputies say Alejandro Perez was driving his 2001 Honda CRV southbound on Seminole Boulevard in the curb lane at about 61st Avenue North, Seminole at the time of the crash.

Paramedics responded to the scene and transported Wilkerson to Bayfront Hospital, St. Petersburg, with life threatening injuries.

Impairment and speed do not appear to be a factor in the crash.

The investigation continues.
