PINELLAS COUNTY – At approximately 4:08 p.m., Deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team responded to 102^nd Avenue and Botanica Drive in Seminole to investigate a fatal single-vehicle crash.

According to investigators, 27-year-old Taylor Titus was traveling westbound on 102^nd Avenue in his 2016 Mazda sedan in the area of Botanica Drive when Taylor’s sedan crossed the eastbound travel lanes of 102^nd Avenue and left the roadway for an unknown reason. The vehicle then struck a fence and came to a final rest upside down in a nearby retention pond.

Taylor was the only occupant of the vehicle and was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Deputies are investigating to determine if speed or impairment are factors in the crash.

Next of kin has been notified.
