Why/How:
Detectives assigned to the Robbery/Homicide Unit were able to identify the body of a male found in the intra-coastal waterway at St. Pete Beach on October 19, 2014 as Steven Jerald Bowen.

Bowen was spotted in the waterway behind 7921 Boca Ciega Drive in St. Pete Beach by a resident who was fishing on the dock at approximately 8:41 AM. Detectives’ state there is nothing suspicious and the death appears accidental.

Detectives are reaching out to the public for assistance in locating next of kin as they have exhausted all possible leads. Anyone with information on next of kin is requested to contact Detective Syers of the Robbery/Homicide Unit at (727)582-6200.
