The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office offers unpaid internships in a variety of areas to undergraduate and graduate students who are eligible to receive college credit for participating. Our internship program can provide students the opportunity to obtain hands-on, practical work experience in areas of the agency including the Patrol Operations Bureau, the Department of Detention & Corrections, Public Relations Bureau, Fiscal Affairs Bureau, Information Technology Bureau, Human Resources Bureau, Forensic Science Division, Threat Management Division. Current offerings are posted on the "Current Openings" page of our site alongside other positions available through the Human Resources Bureau. Internships are generally offered throughout the year in conjunction with academic semesters in the spring, summer, and fall. However, offerings may vary based on operational availability and some offerings may not be available certain times of the year. Requirements Complete the intern application Successfully complete the screening and background investigation Provide a letter from an accredited college or university regarding the intention of the internship, hours needed to complete the internship, and naming a liaison between the agency and college/university Provide documentation that the student has a G.P.A. of 2.5 or higher How to Apply Submit the completed Internship Application in its entirety to the Human Resources Bureau.
