SRO Responds To Student Injury

Injured: 16-year-old female

What:
Deputies assigned to the Sheriff's SRO Unit responded to assist a student who was injured during machining class at Dixie Hollins High School.

When:
The injury occurred during the morning hours of November 7, 2014.

Where:
The injury occurred at Dixie Hollins High School located at 4940 62nd Street North in St. Petersburg.

Why/How:
According to the School Resource Deputy, the 16 year old female student was in machining class when she was injured while working with an engine lathe. The SRO contacted EMS. The female sustained serious, non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
