What:
Members from all areas of the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office will be participating in the annual Great American Teach-In.

When: 
The Great American Teach-In takes place during school hours on Wednesday, November 19, 2014.

Where:
The Teach-In takes place at elementary and high schools countywide.

Why/How:
The Great American Teach-In is a day set aside for students of all ages to listen to volunteers from a variety of professions talk about their work, and about how education played a big role in their personal and professional success.

There are a total of 52 schools participating this year; and the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office has over 50 members attending - representing all areas of the Sheriff's office, to include the K-9 Unit, Marine Unit, Community Policing, Forensics, Crime Prevention, Patrol, and Detention and Corrections.

Highlights of the presentation include:

Sheriff Bob Gualtieri will present at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday to students at Garrison Jones Elementary.

A member of the Canine Unit will present at 10:55 a.m. on Wednesday to students at Dixie Hollins High School.

The sessions are scheduled throughout the school day. Start times for sessions can vary from school to school.
