Deputies are investigating a deputy involved crash in Dunedin. No serious injuries were reported. The crash resulted in an arrest for DUI.

When:
The crash occurred in the early morning hours of Monday, September 7, 2015.

Where:
The crash occurred at the intersection of Keene Road and Country Lakes Drive in Dunedin.

Why/How:
According to investigators, Sergeant Michael Milliron was driving  his assigned 2015 Chevy Tahoe south on Keene Road approaching Country Lakes Drive, when Jaime Charrez-Peña, the driver of the Honda, made an abrupt left turn from northbound Keene onto Country Lakes Drive. Deputy Milliron struck the Honda.

Neither Sergeant Milliron; nor Charrez-Peña sustained serious injury.

Deputies say alcohol was a factor in the crash and Charrez-Peña was arrested for DUI involving property damage and for not having a valid driver’s license. He was subsequently transported to the Pinellas County Jail without further incident.

The investigation continues.
