Why/How:
Suncoast Voices for Children and the Rotary Club of Central Pinellas have together donated approximately $25,000 to establish and furnish a new playroom in the Sheriff’s Child Protection Investigation Division offices.

The playroom, dedicated for children who are removed from their homes due to neglect, abuse or abandonment, is intended to provide a safe, temporary environment where they may find comfort and peace while placement is determined.

The colorful playroom includes new couches, an entertainment area, toys, new books, and a changing table.

Representatives from both organizations will be present to receive a plaque from Sheriff Bob Gualtieri in acknowledgement and gratitude for their generous contribution to the Child Protection Investigations Division and to young victims in Pinellas County.

Suncoast Voices for Children, founded in 2004, is a nonprofit organization that provides for the physical, psychological, educational and social needs of abused, abandoned, and neglected children in Pinellas and Pasco Counties when there is no other resource.

An organization of business and professional leaders, The Rotary Club of Central Pinellas provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and builds goodwill and peaceful relationships throughout the world.
