Florida Association of Police Explorers

What:
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Post 900 recently participated in the 2016 Florida Association of Police Explorers (F.A.P.E.) Delegates Training and Pistol Competition.

When:
The competition took place from September 30 - October 2, 2016.

Where:
The 2016 Florida Association of Police Explorers Delegate training and pistol competition was held in Ormond Beach, Florida. 

Why/How:
Four members of Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Post 900 participated in the Florida Association of Police Explorer’s Delegates training event and pistol competition held in Ormond Beach, Florida, on September 30 – October 2, 2016. 

Explorer posts from around the state met for a full day of training, to learn about various topics that included active attacker, traffic stops, date rape, high risk traffic stops, domestic violence and missing children. 

Participants also attended demonstrations that included K-9, fingerprinting, DUI and undercover investigations.

The pistol competition was held on Sunday, October 2, 2016, at the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office Range. Explorer Chase Fails took 1st Place in the Sharp Shooter Division and Explorer Andrew Aponte took 2nd place in the Expert Division. Explorer Chase Fails, Explorer Andrew Aponte, Explorer Christian Binning and Explorer Justin Musick participated in the Team Shooting Event.

We are very proud of the efforts Post 900 members put forth during this delegates competition.  These young people have proven that a high level of commitment pays off!  Congratulations Explorer Post 900!
