What:
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office is participating in Operation Pill Drop, a Florida Sheriffs Association collaboration, to provide citizens safe, convenient, and responsible means of drug disposal.

When:
Week three of Operation Pill Drop will commence Monday, October 31, 2016 to Friday, November 4, 2016, from 6:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. In addition to the weekday locations, one event will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Where:

The locations for this week are as follows:

North – Walgreens – 2495 Sandy Point Road, Palm Harbor

South – Walgreens – 5405 66th Street North, St. Petersburg

For Saturday November 5, 2016 – Walmart 8001 U.S. Highway 19 North, Pinellas Park

How/Why:

The majority of prescription drug abusers report in surveys they got their drugs from friends' and families’ medicine cabinets, drawers, and bedside tables, according to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.

Throughout the next few weeks, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is participating in several prescription drug take-back events to provide citizens safe, convenient, and responsible means of drug disposal.

During Operation Pill Drop, a Florida Sheriffs Association collaboration ongoing through Saturday, November 12, 2016, the Sheriff's Office is setting up prescription drug drop-off stations at different locations each week in addition to those available year round.

Week three of Operation Pill Drop will commence Monday, October 31, 2016 to Friday, November 4, 2016, from 6:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. In addition to the weekday locations, one event will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
