Why/How:
Pinellas County Sheriff's Office urges citizens to report incidents of unlicensed contractor work and or solicitation to do repair work in the wake of the Storm.

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office aids the Pinellas County Construction Licensing Board with citizen complaints about unlicensed contractors. This aid is provided through the initiation of a Pinellas County Sheriff's Office special project pilot program. The special project is referred to as the Construction License Investigative Unit.

Deputies are encouraging citizens to be vigilant of unlicensed contracting solicitation and report such incidents in the following ways: Call the Construction License Investigative Unit 727-582-6767. Deputies want the public to know they will be looking for this type of illegal activity, respond and investigate complaints from citizens of unlicensed contracting work.

Currently, it is a felony to knowingly complete unlicensed contracting work during a time the Governor has declared a state of emergency FSS 489.127(2)(c).
