Why/How:
Detectives assigned to the Robbery/Homicide Unit have arrested a man after he robbed a bank with a knife in Belleair Bluffs.

At about 3:27 p.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, deputies responded to The Bank of the Ozarks located at 525 Indian Rocks Road, Belleair Bluffs, regarding a report of a bank robbery.

When deputies arrived, they were informed that a man armed with a knife approached two bank tellers and demanded cash. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash from the bank teller and fled the scene before deputies arrived.

Deputies obtained a physical description of the suspect and began searching the area.

After approximately ten minutes, undercover detectives located a vehicle driving in the area of Ponce De Leon Boulevard and Indian Rocks Road. A passenger in the vehicle fit the description of the bank robbery suspect. Belleair Police officers and Pinellas deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle.

Deputies made contact with the occupants in the vehicle identified as 43-year Brian Kleer, 27-year-old Justin Turek and 60-year-old Michael Sadusky. Deputies say Sadusky fit the description of the suspect. Sadusky was in possession of cash consistent with the amount stolen from the bank and a knife similar to the one used in the bank robbery.

Through various investigative techniques, detectives confirmed that Sadusky was responsible for the bank robbery. Detectives say Sadusky fled the bank after committing the robbery and walked to the Belleair Bluffs Apartments located at 675 Indian Rocks Road, where he solicited a ride with Kleer and his nephew Turek. Detectives say Kleer and Turek had no knowledge of the bank robbery.

Detectives interviewed Sadusky and he admitted to committing the bank robbery.

Detectives arrested Sadusky and transported him to the Pinellas County Jail without incident. Sadusky was charged with one count of armed robbery.

Kleer and Turek were released. No criminal charges are anticipated.

The investigation continues.
