James Ivory Pasco Jr. (Suspect – Arrested)
DOB: 07/21/1954
Address: 250 Douglas Avenue West, Oldsmar
Charges: Three counts of Sexual Battery on a Child Less Than 12-Years-of Age, two counts of Sexual Battery- Familial Authority, two counts of Sexual Battery and one count of Lewd & Lascivious Battery.

A total of four female victims. When the crimes occurred the victims were between the ages of five and nineteen. All of the victims were known to the suspects. Per Florida Statute 119.071(2)(h)1 no further details will be released that would tend to identify the victims.

What:
Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit have arrested an Oldsmar father and son for sexually abusing multiple juvenile victims.

The crimes occurred between the early 1970’s and January 2018.

The suspects were arrested on Wednesday, February 28, 2018.

Where:
The crimes occurred in Pinellas County.

Why/How:
Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit have arrested an Oldsmar father and son for sexually abusing multiple juvenile victims.

According to detectives, their investigation began on January 30, 2018, after a female victim contacted the Sheriff’s Office and reported she was sexually battered on separate occasions by 43-year-old Joshua Pasco and 63-year-old James Pasco Jr.

During the course of the investigation, detectives identified a total of four female victims who suffered sexual abuse at the hands of Joshua and/or James Pasco.

Through various investigative techniques, detectives learned that Joshua Pasco had inappropriate sexual activity with two female juvenile victims. Detectives say Joshua Pasco sexually abused the first victim in the late 1990’s when the victim was between the ages of nine and thirteen. The second juvenile victim was sexually abused in 2016 while Joshua Pasco had familial authority over the victim. 

Detectives also learned that James Pasco had inappropriate sexual activity with a total of four victims dating back as far as the early 1970’s. Three of the victims were juveniles between the ages of five and thirteen when the sexual abuse took place. The fourth victim was an adult when James Pasco sexually battered her in 2017 and 2018.  

Detectives say most of the victims were in Joshua and James Pasco’s familial or custodial authority at the time of the abuse.

On Wednesday, February 28, 2018, detectives arrested Joshua and James Pasco at the Sheriff’s Administration Building located at 10750 Ulmerton Road in Largo.

Joshua Pasco was charged with two counts of Sexual Battery- Familial Authority, one count of Lewd & Lascivious Battery and one count of felony Driving While License Suspended or Revoked.

James Pasco was charged with three counts of Sexual Battery on a Child Less than 12-Years-of Age, two counts of Sexual Battery- Familial Authority, two counts of Sexual Battery and one count of Lewd & Lascivious Battery.

Joshua and James Pasco were transported to the Pinellas County Jail without incident.
