The crash occurred on Ridge Road, just north of Park Boulevard in Seminole.

Deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team are investigating a vehicle vs motorcycle crash in Seminole.

According to investigators, 75-year-old Ellen Smith was driving her 2006 Chevrolet Equinox, traveling west on Park Boulevard when she made a north bound turn onto Ridge Road. Smith made an error while making the north bound turn unto Ridge Road, Smith began to travel briefly in the south bound left turn lane, instead of the north bound lane in the opposite lane of travel on Ridge Road. The 2009 Harley Davidson Motorcycle being operated by 47-year-old Robert Schuster traveling south bound on Ridge Road was approaching the intersection of Park Boulevard in the left turn lane when Schuster was struck by Smith’s vehicle

Schuster sustained serious injuries to his lower extremities.

Paramedics responded to the scene and transported Schuster to Bayfront Medical Center.

Neither speed nor impairment appear to be factors in the crash.

The investigation continues.
