The suspect was arrested at about 9:33 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2019.

Where:
The suspect was arrested at his residence located at 1289 New York Avenue in Dunedin.

Why/How:
Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit have arrested a Dunedin man for Possession of Child Pornography.

According to detectives, their investigation began in January 2019, after receiving information that the suspect identified as 46-year-old Peter Somers, was in possession of child pornography.

Through various investigative techniques, detectives were able to recover numerous videos and images depicting adults having inappropriate sexual conduct with young children.

Detectives arrested Somers and charged him with ten counts of Possession of Child Pornography.

Somers was transported to the Pinellas County Jail without further incident.
