Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit have arrested a Dunedin man for Possession of Child Pornography.

When:
The suspect was arrested at about 11:48 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22, 2019.

Where:
The suspect was arrested at his residence located at 719 Beltrees Street, Apt. A, in Dunedin.

Why/How:
Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit have arrested a Dunedin man for Possession of Child Pornography.

According to detectives, their investigation began in March 2019, after receiving tips from the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).

Through various investigative techniques, detectives were able to identify the suspect as 62-year-old Richard Andre. Detectives were able to recover numerous images depicting child pornography from Andre’s personal home computer.

Andre admitted to detectives that he searched for images of child pornography and saved them to his computer.

Detectives arrested Andre and charged him with ten counts of Possession of Child Pornography.

Andre was transported to the Pinellas County Jail without further incident.
