What:
Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit have arrested a St. Petersburg man for Possession of Child Pornography.

When:
Detectives arrested the suspect on Tuesday, February 2, 2021.

Where:
The crime occurred at the suspect's residence located at 3660 49th Avenue North #4, St. Petersburg, FL 33714.

Why/How:
Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children (CAC) Unit have arrested a St. Petersburg man for Possession of Child Pornography.

Detectives began their investigation on February 25, 2020, after receiving information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), that child exploitation material was being uploaded via a social media application.

During the course of the investigation, detectives received three additional tips from NCMEC. Through various investigative techniques, detectives were able to identify the suspect as 63-year-old David Norman Guess.

Detectives obtained a search warrant for Guess' electronics, which was served on Monday, January 25, 2021.

On February 2, 2021, detectives made contact with Guess and transported him to the Sheriff's Administration Building located at 10750 Ulmerton Road in Largo. During an interview with detectives, Guess admitted to possessing child pornography.

Guess was arrested and charged with 20 counts of Possession of Child Pornography. He was transported to the Pinellas County Jail without further incident.
