PINELLAS COUNTY – On Wednesday, June 16, 2021, detectives assigned to the Robbery/Homicide Unit arrested 40-year-old Daniel Horrigan in the shooting death of 29-year-old Clifford Coston III.

According to investigators, Coston drove his black Chevrolet Impala to Horrigan’s residence located at 3924 45^th Avenue North in St. Petersburg. Horrigan met Coston in the roadway and entered the vehicle with him to conduct a drug transaction.

Detectives say during the transaction, Horrigan fired one round into Coston’s lower abdomen. The vehicle accelerated forward and crashed into a fence where witnesses say Horrigan and Coston were seen fighting after the shooting.

Through various investigative techniques, detectives developed probable cause for Horrigan’s arrest. Investigators worked with the State Attorney’s Office to obtain arrest warrants for First Degree Felony Murder and Armed Trafficking in Cocaine.

Horrigan turned himself into authorities and he is currently being held at the Pinellas County Jail without bond.

The investigation continues.

PINELLAS COUNTY – Detectives assigned to the Robbery/Homicide Unit have identified the shooting victim as 29-year-old Clifford Coston III.

Next of kin has been notified and the investigation remains open and active at this time.

PINELLAS COUNTY- Detectives assigned to the Robbery/Homicide Unit are investigating a homicide in Unincorporated St. Petersburg. 

On March 15, 2021, at approximately 8:01 p.m., deputies responded to a residence near the intersection on 45^th Avenue North and 39^th Street North for a report of a shooting. When deputies arrived they observed a black sedan crashed into a fence. A male victim was found inside suffering from a gunshot wound.

Detectives say the victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The victim’s identity is not being released until the next of kin has been notified. 

The suspect is described as a light skinned Black or Hispanic male wearing a black hoodie and was last seen running westbound on 45^th Avenue North.

This remains an active and on-going investigation.
