PINELLAS COUNTY – Deputies assigned to Major Accident Investigation Team are investigating a fatal vehicle vs pedestrian crash in Treasure Island. The crash occurred at approximately 9:50 p.m. on Sunday, June 13, 2021 in front of 10182 Gulf Boulevard.

According to investigators, 52-year-old Christopher Grazer was traveling southbound on Gulf Boulevard in the curb lane. The pedestrian, 52-year-old Daniel Wells was crossing Gulf Boulevard from east to west, not in a designated crosswalk, when he was struck with the front passenger side of the 2006 Dodge Caravan.

Wells suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

Investigators say Grazer remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Speed and impairment do not appear to be factors in this case.

Next of kin has been notified.

The investigation continues.
