PINELLAS COUNTY – On Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at approximately 3:55 p.m., deputies responded to 3709 Cheltenham Drive in Palm Harbor after reports that a teen had been shot.

Once deputies arrived on scene, they located a 15-year-old male victim with one gunshot wound to the face. The other juvenile, a 15-year-old male, left the scene prior to deputies arriving. Additional deputies who were responding to the scene were able to locate him a short distance away.

The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and remains in stable condition.

Detectives say at this point in the investigation, the shooting appears to be accidental.

The investigation continues.
