PINELLAS COUNTY – On May 20, 2024, detectives assigned to the Threat Management Division arrested a Tyrone Middle School student for Written Threats to Kill or Conduct a Mass Shooting and Aggravated Stalking of a Child.

Detectives say 13-year-old Lak Souphakhot logged into another student’s Pinellas County Schools portal FOCUS account to send threatening messages to multiple teachers using profanities and stating, “I will shoot this school up I got 5 glocks and ak-47.”

Detectives made contact with Souphakhot, who admitted to sending the messages but stated he did so jokingly. Souphakhot was arrested and charged with one count of Written Threats to Kill or Conduct a Mass Shooting and one count of Aggravated Stalking of a Minor Child.
