Major Nick Lazaris joined the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office in 2000. He has worked in a variety of assignments within the Patrol Operations Bureau. He has served as a deputy in Patrol Operations, the Selective Traffic Enforcement Program, and the Marine Enforcement Unit. As a supervisor, Major Lazaris managed the Special Services and Events Units, and the Strategic Enforcement Section. Major Lazaris previously commanded the Special Services Section, Special Operations Division, Central District Station, as well as the Major Accident Investigation Team and Crowd Management Team.

Major Lazaris holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Louisiana State University and Bachelors in Public Safety Administration from St. Petersburg College. Additionally, Major Lazaris is a graduate of the 84th Session of the Senior Management Institute for Policing of the Police Executive Research Forum, and holds certification as a Florida Professional Emergency Manager from the Florida Emergency Preparedness Association. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Suncoast Safety Council.

Major Lazaris is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Patrol Operations Bureau.
