Shannon Lockheart graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelors of Science in 1992 and the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law (formerly John Marshall Law School) with a Juris Doctorate in 1995. After graduating law school, she began her legal career at the Office of the State Attorney, Sixth Judicial Circuit. Shannon was an Assistant State Attorney for five years until leaving for private practice at the law firm of Abbey, Adams, Byelick & Kiernan. Shannon worked as an associate at Abbey, Adams from 2000-2004. In 2004, Shannon returned to public service as an Assistant Statewide Prosecutor for the Attorney General’s Office of Statewide Prosecution. Three years later, Shannon worked for the County Attorney’s Office in Pinellas County a short time before beginning her career at Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office in 2007 as Associate General Counsel. In 2013, Shannon was promoted to General Counsel where she currently manages PCSO’s legal and risk staff.
